I completely agree with the other noters… Have your bananas! Trading off for coffee is a good idea too.

By the way, I saw Rainbow Ice Cream at Trader Joe’s the other day and thought of you. But I don’t know if it’s still considered “local” if I’m in SoCal, so I didn’t get any. Plus I just don’t need to be eating any ice cream. =)

that’s a wonderful fair trade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i’ve tried to reduce my banana consumption, but it so hard sometimes!! They are just so perfect, especially with almond butter after a run!
I really like your idea, and Earth bananas sound great!
can’t wait for nike womens!

thank goodness for earth!! life without bananas is too scary to contemplate :-/

i say your trade is completely fair (though i think we have SLIGHTLY different standards!). plus, i’ll be eating less bananas once my CSA starts in June, so there’s room for you to pick up my slack

I never knew anyone could give so much thought into buying bananas. It shows your commitment and sincerity to your beliefs. Good for you on making the small and fair trade.

Speaking of chocolate – If you consider eating only the locally produced brands, than that too will help abide to living green as you’re dollars are giving back to the people of the community. To my knowledge Charles Chocolates and See’s are still produced locally in Berkley and So. San Francisco, but Josef Schmidt and Scharffen Berger Chocolates may have moved production elsewhere since they are owned by Hersheys.

I understand your dilemma- but I think your body will thank you for all that those Earth bananas provide. It’s not like you are avoiding the locally-grown options- there simply aren’t any. I say– have your bananas.

I think your small change/trade off idea is a good one! I love bananas and don’t think I could ever give them up. Thanks for the info about WF! I’ll definitely be checking those out.
